Knee replacement revision clinic
If your knee replacement hasn’t given you the improvement you hoped for, you may be left wondering why – and what you can do next.
Clear answers when recovery hasn’t gone to plan
Recovering from knee replacement isn’t always straightforward. Sometimes symptoms continue even after previous investigations or treatment, and it can be difficult to know where to turn next.
Our knee replacement revision clinic is designed specifically for these more complex situations. Led by Mr Urjit Chatterji, one of the UK’s most experienced revision knee surgeons, the service brings together revision surgery expertise, pain medicine and other specialists to look at your knee from every angle.

Our knee replacement revision clinic approach
Detailed review of your knee replacement and recovery
Specialist assessment of symptoms and movement
Targeted scans and investigations where needed
Clear explanation of findings
Surgical or non-surgical care tailored to you
Coordinated recovery support
What we treat
The clinic is for people who have already had knee replacement surgery but aren’t recovering as expected. You might come to us because your knee is still painful, stiff or unstable and you haven’t been given a clear explanation. You may have been told that another operation could be needed, want a second opinion before making a decision, or simply feel that you’ve reached a dead end with your current care. Whatever has brought you here, our first step is understanding your individual situation.

- Your first appointment will cover your symptoms, medical history, previous knee surgery and any scans or investigations you’ve already had
- Your specialist will assess how your knee is moving and talk you through what may be contributing to your symptoms
- If more information is needed, we’ll arrange targeted scans or tests with a clear purpose
- If further surgery could help, your care will be led by a specialist who regularly manages complex revision knee replacements
- If surgery isn’t the right option, we’ll put together a structured non-surgical plan, which may include pain medicine, specialist physiotherapy or other support
- At every stage, we’ll explain what we know, what can realistically be achieved and what we recommend doing next
