Rheumatology
Our rheumatology specialists help you move forward with arthritis or ongoing joint symptoms, with care built around the life you want to lead.

Understanding what’s behind your symptoms
Joint pain or stiffness can affect how you move and enjoy daily life, but our rheumatology specialists are here to help you understand the cause. We’ll listen closely to your symptoms and their effect on your wellbeing before explaining any tests or treatment options.
Our goal is to develop a personalised care plan that will reflect what matters most to you, including the activities you’d like to return to.

Your journey with our physicians
Time to understand the whole picture
We listen to your symptoms, health, lifestyle and goals, so we understand what matters to you.
Clear answers about your symptoms
Your physician assesses what may be causing your symptoms and arranges further tests if needed.
A care plan built around you
Together, we agree a plan that may include rehabilitation, exercise, medication or other treatments.
Support for lasting progress
Your physician works with the wider team to help you return to the activities that matter to you.
The Role of the Rheumatologist
Rheumatologists specialise in the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the joints, muscles, bones and immune system. Our rheumatologists are highly experienced clinicians and leading experts in their fields, working as part of an integrated team alongside Sport and Exercise Medicine physicians, radiologists, physiotherapists, pain specialists and orthopaedic surgeons.
This multidisciplinary approach is particularly important because symptoms that initially appear to result from a sporting or musculoskeletal injury may occasionally be the first presentation of an underlying rheumatological condition. Persistent joint swelling, pain or stiffness, recurrent tendon problems or symptoms affecting several areas may require a broader medical assessment.
Our rheumatologists can provide expert diagnosis, appropriate investigations and individualised treatment, while working closely with the wider team to ensure that both the underlying condition and the patient’s rehabilitation, exercise and activity goals are addressed.
Our Experts - Rheumatology
Our team is made up of experienced consultants in rheumatology, sport and exercise medicine, bone health and pain management. Their specialist expertise means you’ll see a physician who understands your specific symptoms or condition, making your visit comfortable and personalised.
