Supporting your recovery, every step of the way
Whether you are recovering from surgery or attending an appointment for an injury or ongoing condition, our physiotherapy team can help you move with greater confidence.
Our inpatient and outpatient services support different stages of your care, with rehabilitation tailored to your needs, your treatment and the activities you want to return to.

Your recovery journey
Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, treatment, daily activities and goals. After surgery, your assessment will also take account of your consultant’s rehabilitation instructions.
Together, you will agree appropriate exercises and goals for your recovery, with clear guidance on what you can do and any precautions you need to follow.
If you are in hospital, the focus will be on moving safely and understanding what to do at home. At outpatient appointments, your physiotherapist will review your progress and adapt your plan.
Your rehabilitation will progress according to your recovery, helping you build confidence in the activities that matter most to you.
Who we help
Our physiotherapy services support people recovering from orthopaedic surgery and those managing problems affecting their muscles, joints and movement. This may include:
Patients recovering from joint replacement or other orthopaedic procedures
Patients with sports injuries or working towards a return to work and exercise
People managing joint pain, stiffness or reduced mobility
Patients recovering from muscle, tendon or ligament injuries
Care that moves with you
Physiotherapy helps you improve movement, build strength and manage the effects of injury or surgery. Your physiotherapist will work with you to understand your goals and develop a plan that suits your stage of recovery.

Inpatient physiotherapy: support during your hospital stay
Inpatient physiotherapy focuses on your early recovery after surgery and preparing you to return home safely.
- Depending on your procedure and needs, this may include:
- Helping you get into and out of bed, stand and walk safely
- Practising stairs where needed for your return home
- Showing you how to use crutches or other walking aids
- Explaining how to wear and manage a prescribed boot, brace or sling
- Introducing appropriate exercises
- Explaining any restrictions on movement or how much weight you can put through the operated limb
- Discussing your rehabilitation after discharge
Your physiotherapy will follow your consultant’s instructions and take account of how you are feeling.

Outpatient physiotherapy: support beyond your hospital stay
Outpatient physiotherapy takes place at appointments without an overnight hospital stay. It may support your recovery after surgery or help you manage an injury or condition that does not require an operation.
Your physiotherapist will assess your movement, strength and day-to-day difficulties, then agree a treatment plan with you. This may include exercises, practical advice and other treatment where appropriate.
As you progress, your rehabilitation can focus on returning to everyday activities, work, exercise or sport.
